How to clean & seal guide
To ensure you apply your sealant (#JSI CLASSIC or PLUS) in the most beneficial way, please follow these instructions and/or watch the application video below. 

HOW TO CLEAN

PREPARATION - STONE & CONCRETE

Before sealing, always use a cleaner specially formulated for all natural and engineered stone surfaces (like our #JSI Stone Wash or for tough surfaces a super concentrated detergent like #JSI Power Foam) 

Stone Wash & Power Foam Cleaning Methods
*Stone wash is designed to be used with our #JSI Foam Sprayer, or can be done with the below care pad method too.

FOAM SPRAYER METHOD
(for both Stone Wash & Power Foam)

1. Fill the canister with #JSI Stone Wash or #JSI Power Foam.
2. Attach to your garden hose, spray and let the solution do the work.
3. Scrub the solution with #JSI Pad Holder Pro + Green Pad or garden broom for course surfaces (exposed aggregate).
4. Rinse off with garden hose any remaining detergent. 

Or

WATERING CAN / BUCKET METHOD
(for both Stone Wash & Power Foam)

1. Mix solution add approximately four capfuls (50ml) of this product to 9 litres of water in watering can (best) or bucket.
2. Apply & spread Evenly pour the solution over the surface, then spread with a broom or #JSI Pad Holder Pro + Green Pad to ensure full coverage. Agitate and scrub the surface for removal of dirt & grime.
3. Rinse Thoroughly rinse the surface with clean water from hose.

FOR STUBBORN ORGANIC STAINS

Safe method for cleaning organic stains from paving (Timber stains, algae, bird poo, berries, leaf litter, etc).

1. Mix solution in a watering can, combine 1 litre liquid pool chlorine (sodium hypochlorite) with 5 litres of water.
2. Prepare surface Lightly dampen the surface with clean water.
3. Apply & spread evenly pour the solution over the surface, then spread with a broom or #JSI Pad Holder Pro + Green Pad to ensure full coverage.
4. Dwell time Leave for 30-60 minutes to allow the chlorine to break down organic matter.
5. Rinse Thoroughly rinse the surface with clean water.
6. Neutralise Apply #JSI Stone Wash or #JSI Power Foam to remove any remaining chlorine residue.
7. Final Rinse Rinse again to wash away the neutraliser.


HOW TO SEAL
PREPARATION - STONE & CONCRETE

Proper surface preparation is critical for performance.

1. Ensure Surface is clean Ensure surface to be treated us clean and bone dry. 
2. Application Should only be completed if the surface temperature is between 10-30 degrees celsius (50-80 degrees Fahrenheit).
3. Test sealant in an inconspicuous area and allow 24 hours to ensure desired results are achieved prior to treating entire surface.

APPLICATION - STONE & CONCRETE
Before sealing, choose a sealant specially formulated for all natural and engineered stone surfaces (like our #JSI Classic Sealant or for tough surfaces that are exposed to harsher weather conditions choose our more powerful #JSI Plus Sealant).
  • On a clean, dry surface, apply one coat of undiluted sealant with a low pressure sprayer or Microfibre applicator from left to right.
  • Immediately apply a second coat before the first coat dries.
  • Together, this equates to two coats, wet-on-wet.
  • Ensure there is no excess or pooling on the surface and if spraying onto a smooth surface, finish off with a microfibre applicator.
  • An additional wet-on-wet coat may be applied by repeating steps 1-3, to ensure complete coverage.

PREPARATION - WOOD
Proper surface preparation is critical for performance.

MECHANICAL METHOD

1. Sand timber (80-120 grit). 
2. Remove all dust Blow or vacuum, them wipe with a microfibre cloth or #JSI Microfibre applicator for ease and speed. 

CHEMICAL METHOD (If required)

1. Oxalic Acid If required, clean the surface using a specialist deck cleaner containing Oxalic Acid to remove tannins, stains and contaminants.
2. Apply & spread evenly pour the solution over the surface, then spread with a broom or #JSI Pad Holder Pro + Green Pad.
3. Rinse Thoroughly rinse the surface with clean water.

 

APPLICATION - WOOD
